The Partnership for Lebanon
This web-based business partnering portal is made possible by the generous support of Cisco Systems, Inc.—a founding member of the Partnership for Lebanon. The Partnership for Lebanon was established by leading U.S. business leaders in September 2006 to provide critically needed resources to assist the reconstruction efforts in Lebanon, and to help build a better future for the Lebanese people. Partnership leaders include:

Steve Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft Corporation Craig Barrett, Chairman, Intel Corporation John Chambers, Chairman and CEO, Cisco Yousif Ghafari, Chairman, GHAFARI, Inc. Dr. Ray Irani, Chairman, President and CEO, Occidental Petroleum Corporation

The goal of the partnership is to assist the Lebanese reconstruction effort in the wake of the recent conflict, and to help the people of Lebanon find the path to long term economic growth and stability through public-private partnerships.
The focus of the partnership is on five key areas:
- Crisis Relief and Response
- ICT Infrastructure
- Workforce Training
- Job Creation
- Connected Government
The partnership is appealing to the generosity of concerned citizens across the globe to bring relief to the people of Lebanon.
Working with NGO's like ANERA, Habitat for Humanity, Islamic Relief, Mercy Corps, Relief International, and UNICEF partnership funds will be used to rebuild homes, rehabilitate schools, and expand worker training programs.
The partnership is also working with American and Lebanese businesses through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, NGOs and other stakeholders to create public-private partnerships aimed at expanding the reach of education and worker training, stimulating private sector development, increasing employment opportunities, and building technology infrastructure.
A stable and secure Lebanon has the potential to become an anchor of stability in the Middle East. And Lebanon's fundamental characteristics – a skilled workforce, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to democracy – give us hope that, with support from American citizens and businesses, Lebanon can become this anchor.
The window for hope and opportunity in Lebanon is open, but the time to act is now. Please join us.
